Dr. DaQuan K. Bashir is an education leader and equity champion born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. He currently serves as Associate Director of Human & Civil Rights, Equity, and Governance at the New Jersey Education Association, where he leads initiatives that support just and inclusive learning environments statewide.

With a background in computer science education and a passion for ethical innovation, Dr. Bashir has held key roles at the Computer Science Teachers Association and Microsoft Philanthropies' TEALS Program, where he expanded access to CS and AI learning through teacher development, community partnerships, and equitable curriculum design.

He brings over a decade of experience at the intersection of education, technology, and social justice—advancing policies and practices that center students’ lived experiences while preparing them for a future shaped by AI.
